GREAT NEWS!!!  I’ve been pretty strong the last two months and working on building up my stamina riding my stationary bike and swimming. To keep me busy, we had lots of fun things to do, including flying with Mary Walden to see “Portland Susan” and hooking up with Drew for our road trip home. Stopping at the Muscatell’s in San Jose for a visit, then a couple of weeks later Drew and Terri came for a visit. One night we went to the beach with dinner to watch the sunset, as most of you know, this is one of my favorite things to do. Andy purchased 8 tickets to a country concert over 3 months ago and I was skeptical I would be able to go, but he has never doubted my drive to get stronger and be there. Fortunately, Dan, Drew’s dad was in town scouting for his new school, San Jose State and was able to join us for the concert and a couple of dinners. It was so great to have them here.

It has been two months since my last MRI, as the next one loomed, doubt started to creep in and the last week was emotional, I have felt your love and prayers, it really helped. This past Thursday morning I had the MRI, normally Dr Peter calls me that evening with the news. Friday morning we met with Dr. Peter (have I mentioned how much I love him). Sue his nurse (herself an angel) came out to greet us in the waiting area waving the report, excitedly saying “Have you seen it?” It makes me cry telling you about it. We jumped up to follow her, as we did Stephanie took the report and started reading. Usually Radiologists are some of the most conservative when putting results in writing, without getting into the medical terminology (which we don’t understand) there has been approximately 20% shrinkage in the “necrotic mass” (dead tumor). With 8 chemo treatments now behind us, this is the first measurable reduction in the mass and first signs of God’s miracle. It is like the heavens opened and shined a bright light on my future. AGAIN Thank You God      ~Susan
Birthday at the Beach
Taking pictures and then the waves came! - RUN!

I awoke this morning dreaming Andy and I were hiking on wet rocks and I did not NEED to hold his hand. I believe it will happen, but I'm always happy to hold his hand.

Then I got out of bed and saw this rainbow on our wall. I feel like this is Gods way of gently reminding me he is taking care of us.
Things are going really well. Both girls are back in school. This is Andy's busy season. I'm grateful that he can get out and work without worrying about me. Tonight we went to the beach and again saw God's glory.

I start chemotherapy again on Saturday and will have an MRI on the 20th and a meeting with Dr. Chen on the 22nd We will keep you all posted with the good news.

Thank you all for your love and support.

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

Hi friends and family!
We are WAY behind on updates, my goodness! We are sorry to keep good news from you. Yes, good news! In October, Mom had an MRI that showed the most significant shrinkage to date. So awesome! Those signs from the previous post gave Mom confidence that everything would be okay. She saw another rainbow reflecting on the wall walking into the doctors office and everything ended up more than okay.
This past weekend, Drew and I surprised Mom and Dad in San Francisco (Good idea, Drewbs!). They had flown up to participate in the Voices Against Brain Cancer (http://www.voicesagainstbraincancer.org) run/walk event. Doree, another GBM survivor, was presented the Vision of Hope award along with many other inspiring survivors. To me, like many of you, our Momma is among the most inspiring. It was such a blessing to spend the weekend together reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the future.
We hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving with your friends and families. We are counting our blessings on our fingers, toes and strands of hair :) You are all among those blessings! Thank you for continuing to carry our family through. God is good. All the time. It's been such a privilege to see and feel how deeply He cares for His children through you. We're thankful for you!
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Colossians 4:2
We got an early Very Merry Christmas gift. We went to see Dr Peter Chen today for the reading of my MRI this morning. The results are so good, God is amazing, more shrinkage, they even used the word remission.

This year has been one of the longest years of my life but I have never felt more loved and supported then I have this year. I need to first thank God for all of you and for being so constant in our life's. He is a miracle worker and he wants us to have life and live it to the fullest.

John 10:10 I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We love you Andy, Susan, Drew, Stephanie and Joey
Happy Thursday everyone!

I just finished the seventh round of chemo! Praise Jesus!!

It went very smooth with no problems. I am feeling really good and hopeful. We had a visit with Dr. Mason, my oncologist and Team-Susan quarterback, yesterday and he was very encouraging. I will have yet another MRI next month and we are hopeful for a tumor FREE report, but we will still be pleased with continued shrinkage.

By now I hope you have all read Mary's letter, I am in awe of her courage and strength to write such a heartfelt letter. I am very thankful for the wonderful, amazing people God has placed in my life. The trip wouldn't have been what it was if it wasn't for the prayers from all of you, Mary especially. I felt safe the whole way. We had a wonderful visit with “Portland Susan”, she was so dear. She has a beautiful home out in the countryside right on the edge of the Washington/ Oregon border with large green trees, and Rocky, the squirrel, she made me feel right at home.

Drew and I enjoyed a wonderful drive south with much laughter. YAY I am with my baby girl! Stopping at Terri’s house (Boyfriend Drew’s Mom) for two nights exploring their new home in San Jose. They just moved in 3 days earlier and she was an amazing host, my life was changed by her spending two days with us not touching a box. She was just enjoying the time we spent together. That is a quality I truly admire and will be working on being present and focused on enjoying the company I am surrounded by.

Thank you for your continued Love & Prayers
